Asset Link
Assetlink worked with Boomalli Artist member Jasmine Sarin to design their 2022 NAIDOC Week uniform. Jasmine Sarin is a proud Kamilaroi and Jerrinja woman born and raised in Wollongong on Dharawal Country.
Assetlink delivers facility services to assist businesses manage their assets, operations and carry out major and minor projects. They have a network of over 350 clients, including JLL, Lendlease, Uniting and Sydney Airport.
The artwork is a graphic design piece created to reflect Assetlink and capture its culture and values as they celebrate NAIDOC Week. The artwork was designed to be adorned on uniforms that will be worn by Asstlink team members at their client locations throughout Australia, particularly during times and dates of significance including NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week.
The artwork Jasmine created for Assetlink’s uniforms is titled Ngurra – a Dharawal word meaning Camp. The work depicts Assetlink as a home that connects to communities, organisations and partners. The main circle in the centre represents the company, its core values and a strong sense of customer service. The other circular symbols around refer to People and Place, and Partners, while the footprints are symbolic of the company creating connections through collaborations and partnerships. The patterns and colours in the background are an acknowledgement of the changing landscape of this vast country, and a recognition of the history and cultures of the Traditional Custodians of the Land.
The artwork was launched during a NAIDOC week event in July 2022 at Assetlink head office in Gladesville, NSW. The polo shirts we worn by all of the staff in attendance and followed up with an artist interview to unveil the artwork in its entirety and discuss the meaning and inspiration of the work.
