In 2023 Boomalli was approached by LEK Consulting to commission an artwork for their new Sydney office and to license the work for their Reconciliation Action Plan. LEK Consulting commissioned Dunghutti and Biripi Artist, Wanita Lowe to produce an artwork with a connection to Gadigal Country and the natural landscape around Sydney Harbour and the Botanic Gardens, where their new office is situated.

The artwork Wanita created is titled Gadigal Country – Here and Now.

A celebration of a forever changing Sydney landscape, so Urban and diverse, inspirational, captivating and transformative.
This is Gadigal Country, I wanted to pay respect and acknowledge the people of the Eora nation and how the Gadigal people have adapted to its new landscape while holding a strong connection to their Culture, land and surroundings. The goanna and the humpback Whale are the totems of this beautiful Nation, I wanted to add this in a Cultural sense. I also wanted to incorporate the Sydney landmarks, the Opera House and the Harbour bridge with the city in the distance, thinking about the here and now with a contemporary voice, never losing sight of the land we walk on.
