For NAIDOC Week 2025 Boomalli and Nioka Lowe-Brennan were engaged by Dexus to facilitate a live artwork session in the foyer of the Quay Quarter Tower at Bridge St, Sydney.
Nioka’s artwork Water Lilies in Bloom is a mixed media painting inspired by this year’s NAIDOC theme: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.
“When I think about generations, what comes to mind is the wealth of knowledge we inherit from those who came before us. In both small and large ways, we are all products of our ancestors, shaped by their experiences and wisdom. I painted the life cycle of a native water lily to show stages of life and imagine each flower as a baby, parent, grandparent and so on. The landscape is inspired by Dunghutti country, my mothers country.”
