Su Lousick
Su has a long history of making art, objects, and fashion using native fauna and flora. In August 2022, Su paraded a catwalk look at the Country to Couture fashion parade facilitated by the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation (DAAFF), she called her look Bogan Original.
From the 1990’s to 2017 Su worked as a project officer for a variety of Government and non-Government bodies and community groups facilitating among other things educational activities and events that raised awareness about native fibers, fiber crafts, and cultural practices and protocols on Country, in Sydney and across the far west catchment area of NSW.
Activities and events that showcased the importance of water quality, water flows, and sharing information.
The Bogan and Macquarie River valleys hold very Ngiyanhigin.gu Ngurambang (our special places) to my family. The Bogan Valley is my mother’s ancestral homelands. We belong to the Warramunga language group of the Wiradjuri nation.
