Byron Bay, my ancestral homelands. I am a proud granddaughter, of women who fished, gathered

walked beaches, filled pippie buckets, spent long days eating berries “bush lollies”

leaving enough for the birds and possums, ground mob animals

water lines, many areas, we swim playing for hours until dark

learning to pick and not to eat Suffolk Park is my favourite walk to the tea tree lake.

Broken is the best fishing spot.

Circle are special sitting areas mostly family sharing spots feeding on fish, crabs, prawns, pippies and dampa made in the fire.

Aunts and Uncles all bringing a different meal that was caught that day.

Night prawning was so fun, cleaning nets, smells sealife.

The sands white clean full of worms and pippies I believe we are all connected to mother earth
