This piece was sketched during a life drawing session (For My Sovereign Black Body).

While drawing this piece, it jogged my memory of a time in my life where things weren’t going so well. I felt closed off and afraid of being judged for my sexuality. As I was feeling allsorts, I thought it would be time to open up and tell my parents, thinking in my mind I’d get a negative response. When infact the reaction was the complete opposite. My mum said, in her own words “I love the ground you walk on”.
