This piece is a reference to ceremony, connection to culture, connection to the land, connection to family, and memories of family. This place holds so many significant memories for me and brings up so many feelings around my connection with my Grandmother. In fact, while painting this piece, I only listened to songs that reminded me of her or songs that I know she loved to listen to. It almost felt like I was channelling her into the piece itself.
