Cape Making Workshop

In 2022 Dennis Golding was commissioned to create a large scale cape chandelier installation for the Broadway Sydney atrium. The artwork was titled “Stand Up, Fly High” and was aimed at elevating the voices and providing empowerment for local Aboriginal kids from the Glebe and Inner West community.

Dennis collaborated with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from Glebe Public School and the local community from Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative, and conducted a series of cape making workshops.

The capes created from these workshops were displayed as part of the cape chandelier artwork, which was displayed at Broadway Sydney during NAIDOC Week.
