International Convention Centre Sydney

In 2018 Boomalli Founding Member Artist, Jeffrey Samuels, was commissioned by ICC Sydney to create an artwork for their Reconciliation Action Plan. 

The artwork reflects Tumbalong and its waterways and Jeffrey has brought to life the animals, plants and shells that would have once been abundant along the shoreline. 

The whales from Jeffrey’s painting are etched in black vinyl glass across the access points to ICC Sydney’s three major buildings – the Convention Centre, the Exhibition Centre and the ICC Sydney Theatre – as part of a welcome to the venue in the local Gadigal language.

Animated elements of the artwork are displayed on digital screens outside the Convention Centre.
