YHA Sydney Harbour

Boomalli has partnered with Youth Hostels Australia over the last 2 years to deliver an ongoing artist in residence program with our artists at their hostels located throughout NSW.

Bundjalung Artist Rubyrose Bancroft, who is based in Byron Bay, was the first Boomalli artist to undertake this program at the YHA Sydney Harbour.

Rubyrose created a studio space in the reception area of YHA Sydney Harbour over 5 days, where she worked and engaged with YHA guests and team members about her art.

The team at Sydney Harbour hosted a ‘Meet the Artist’ event where Rubyrose presented her claymation video works ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ and ‘Mud’, as well as an artist talk and Q & A session.
