Madeleine Park

In 2022 Boomalli was approached by stylist Madeleine Park who was seeking to commission an artist to create unique light installation pieces for a fashion and panel event she was coordinating in partnership with the Vivid Festival.

Boomalli worked with Madeleine on the project and put her in touch with Dharug Artist Hayley Pigram, whose knowledge in weaving techniques and experience working with diverse materials made her the perfect fit to take on this commission.

Hayley handmade each light artwork by hand and worked with Madeleine in her Sydney studio to pair the artworks with a curated up-cycled fashion collection consisting of vintage items by Australian designers. The end result was a stunning fashion show featuring dancers from the Brolga Dance Academy, and a beautiful collaboration of art, fashion, dance and ideas.

Listen to Madeleine and Hayley chat about the project and Hayley’s own journey as an artist in the Style Stories podcast here.
